Organisation
“Serbia Organica”, Serbia's national organic agriculture promotion association, was formed in May 2009 as an independent, non-governmental and not-for-profit organization advocating promotion of organic production and development of the organic food market in Serbia.
“Serbia Organica” is an umbrella organisation which brings together the entire organic agriculture sector in the territory of Serbia.
Our mission is to make organic production a reliable and competitive agribusiness, both nationally and in foreign markets. Through our mission, we strive to protect national resources and preserve the flavour of “mother nature” for present and future generations. By developing organic production, we wish to contribute to the promotion of human and animal health and environment protection in general.
We see ourselves as the “gateway to the world of organic agriculture” for all producers, processors, traders and consumers.
Our vision is to have 20% of all agricultural areas in Serbia (1 million hectares) under organic production in the next 10 years.
Our aims include:
- Active support to the development of organic production
- Development of the local market for organic products
- Boosting organic product exports
- Harmonization of interests across the organic agriculture sector
- Support to fair and sustainable aspects of economic systems
